Nov/Dec Ride of the Month

The Mazda RX-7, loved/wanted by many, but owned by few. Known for its sporty styling, rear wheel drive layout it is one of the vehicles Mazda will always be known for. How about the Toyota 'JZ' motor, most known for its Hp capabilities, and its characteristic of being just about "bulletproof." Now why not take both and combine them, making a 1JZ powered RX-7, which this combination makes it as our first ever ride of the month.

We met up with owner Alain Otero at the recent Mazda meet to check out his 1989 Icy Red Pearl FC RX-7 and here is a quick low down:

10.10.10 SoFla Bimmer Meet

When Pauly D mentions "the shirt before the shirt," people may laugh and think its a retarded phrase. On the contrary when you basically have "a meet BEFORE the meet," you know you are about to attend another great Florida Bimmer event.

With over 180 BMW vehicles attending, and a lonely GT3RS, the parking lot was full and then some. It was an amazing turnout and meet to say the least between catered food, mobile dyno runs, and raffle prizes including full sets of wheels. The guys at Florida Bimmer aim to bring the BMW game back to the southeast and looks like they are definitely on the right track.

Here are a few pics, the full album should be on our site noicsgarage.com/gallery very soon!

BMW SoFlo Meet

Damn, we haven't been to a big car meet in awhile. So when e90post.com and soflobmw.com started posting about a BMW meet up in our area, we thought it would be a good idea to go and check out our first BMW meet.
Time was set for 11-4pm at Matheson Hammock Park, interestingly enough when we show up at 11am there are cars already parked and getting cleaned. Luckily the big time modded Bimmers hadn't shown up yet so our stock e90 didn't look too out of place....yet. As some time passes the waves of caravans roll in and get situated. The SLRs are beeping and snapping, as friends reunite and check out everyones rides. More and more cars keep showing up and the parking lot of the park keeps getting more and more lively.
Needless to say it was a great turnout, one of the biggest turnouts we have seen for just a car meet in awhile now. Best part about it....not one burnout....no excessive revving (you could heard the occasional BOV).....nobody talking trash or starting fights. Basically what a car meet is all about, hanging out with friends, meeting new people, checking out the personal rides and having an overall great time. In the end a stock height e90 DID stick out almost being the 4x4 of the group, but its not about what mods you have, more of the love for the scene.....

HIN/NOPI - Miami - 2010

HIN NOPI Supershow August 14th, 2010
On this Saturday cars from across the state converged upon Miami Beach. Hot Import Nights and NOPI were in town for the first time since December 2008. Car enthusiasts were excited and thrilled to see the return of a much loved and highly anticipated car show series that paired two of the biggest names in the modified car show culture. And the fans did not disappoint. Car after car rolled through the doors of Miami Beach Convention Center Friday and Saturday before the show and began setting up to show off their hard work.
Car clubs brought out their best in the battle for one of the three different club awards. Obsessive Creations Car Club, Dreamz in Motion, Street Stylez, Scikotics, Wicked Dreamz, IC Events, and many other clubs were in attendance, however not everyone could go home with an award. Undisputed Car Club screamed there hardest and went home with the “Loudest at Awards” trophy as well as the “Most Entries” award which carried along a $500 cash purse. Street Stylez did not let anyone down with members from Miami, Daytona, and Jacksonville bringing out the cars to help them take home the “Top Quality” award and $500.
Musical artists Yung Joc, DJ Mad Linx, DJ Lady Tribe, Demic & Bawsten with DJ Whippash kept the audience going late into the night. While the Miss HIN and Swimsuit competition on the main stage between music sets kept the crowd growing.
At the end of the night Miami did not fail as the dream destination we are all so proud of. Hot cars, smoking hot models, and an excitement between all the competitors so thick you could have broken off a piece.
The crew from HIN/NOPI were working hard throughout the day and into the night with a smile on their faces. For them, were sure the actual event was the culmination of lots of hard work and for that we would like to extend a major kudos for pulling off a great event that will keep car enthusiasts wanting more next year.
